Project: Event Concept
Innovation was always an element of the Chicago Artist Coalition’s (CAC) Starving Artist fundraiser - an evening celebrating collaborations between visual artists and culinary talents. Collective participation and unexpected attendee interactions had not always been elements of the event, so weetu developed a concept for CAC that would celebrate the artist and chef collaborations by bringing the results into unexpected contact with event attendees. By shifting how attendees interacted with the food experience, weetu hoped that processionals and other interactive presentations would remove the competitive characteristic of the dining experience that is frequently found at similar events. The result would be an elevation of both food and visual art.
